A place in
the community.
Our work connects us to people, businesses and organizations. Here are some of the initiatives shared by uPress.
Drobit Raid Ltd., the owner of uPress, has been committed since its inception, alongside its business activity, to contributing to the community and to society, and it does so through a variety of community technology projects and initiatives. Following are several examples.
In the field of privacy and security education, the Company has taken upon itself, among other things, to carry out, for the first time in Israel, a large-scale and complex project of translating the GDPR, the European data protection regulation, into Hebrew (gdpr.upress.co.il), so that it is accessible and available to every person.
The Company has developed various technical tools for the benefit of the community in the areas of privacy and security, including a tool for sending messages in a more private and secure manner (secretit.co.il).
The Company makes its systems and resources available to students of computer and Internet studies at various educational institutions.
In the area of website accessibility for people with disabilities, the Company helped develop an accessibility tool that is available for free use by anyone interested (enable.co.il) and is widely used.
uPress sees itself as an integral part of the local and global "Internet society" and as such it places its experience, resources and capabilities at the service of various public initiatives. For example, as part of the global project for the transition to the new IPv6 communications protocol (from the existing IPv4), an issue it considers of great importance on the national level as well, the Company has harnessed its resources, on both the technological and the awareness-raising sides, to encourage the Israeli Internet community to make the transition and to align with leading countries and organizations around the world.
As part of the open-source community, uPress makes various infrastructure and resources available to all users and developers in connection with Linux and other systems.
uPress's community involvement extends beyond technology and the internet and touches various layers of Israeli society. uPress supported the Pink Lionesses (HaLaviot HaVrudot) association, which helps women coping with breast cancer; uPress supported and accompanied Yael Kadshai, the successful motorcycle racer and wonderful "ambassador" of Israel in the world, on her journey to become the first Israeli to take part in the prestigious Dakar Rally; uPress supports projects promoting tolerance, clean discourse, education and integration between sectors. Among other things, the company supported a football team from the city of Ramla ("Hoshen uPress"), which inscribed on its banner zero violence, acceptance and social responsibility.
uPress assists various parties seeking to promote social and community goals through technology and beyond. You can approach it with requests on these subjects by email, providing thorough and detailed information. By nature, the Company's resources are limited and it cannot make any commitment in this regard, but requests will be examined by it and will receive attention.
